I don’t consider myself to be an old person, yet, but I have to agree with what you hear a lot of old(er) people saying.
Namely things change and move on very fast.
And this is as true in property as anything else, especially when it comes to the technology, software, apps and so forth we can use to supercharge our property investment businesses, and make things more efficient and effective.
And profitable of course.
I’ve been actively investing for myself for almost 25 years, and started before Rightmove, before Google, before Amazon and before most, if not all the property trainers and influencers you see on Social Media started.
I started before most accountancy software packages appeared, and before there was a cost effective property management system suitable for fledgling buy to let businesses.
My cutting edge technology was an excel spreadsheet – it did the job, and I still use them, but nowadays there’s far more choices of tools to help run the business.
My advice, which you don’t have to take, is to get your systems and tech set up as early as possible because one thing I found is, now that all this tech is available to me, it is a massive job to try to retro-fit all your old data so you can make full use of what is available.
Here’s to Successful Property Investing.

PS. By the way, I’ve rewritten and updated my best-selling e-book, The Successful Property Investor’s Strategy Workshop, which is an account of how I put together my multi-property portfolio, starting from scratch and with no money of my own, and how you can do the same.
