It’s been great to get your emails over the summer but one theme which I have noticed is that many of us would admit to not having taken enough action over the last few months. What do I mean by that? How does this manifest? Well, for example, not doing enough viewings or not putting in enough offers. If we don’t do the viewings or make the offers then we’re not going to do any property deals.
But I wonder what it is that makes us not want to go out and do what we know we should be doing. Is it a lack of motivation? Could it be a lack of motivation, if our motivation is to be successful in property, which in itself is often motivated by giving up the day job, for example? When you think about it, it probably isn’t motivation because we probably all agree and understand the benefits of succeeding in property investing, particularly when compared with the alternative.
So is it something at a deeper level? Is it a lack of belief, possibly a lack in belief that we can do it, or can do it properly, or a lack of belief that this can really work for us?
In my experience, belief is one of the key factors in deciding whether a Property Investor is successful or not. I meet many Property Investors in my role as a mentor and I’ve realised over the years that the only difference between someone who is highly successful and someone who isn’t that successful is belief. The successful person and the unsuccessful person quite often have the same intelligence, the same access to knowledge, the same access to funds and potential partners, and the same access to deals, and the only difference is the successful person believes they can do it whereas the unsuccessful person doesn’t.
If you’re feeling that you’re struggling because of lack of belief, which you might describe as a lack of motivation, its well worth digging a bit deeper into what’s really going on in that six inches between your ears, because that’s where success is born and bred.
There’s loads of great material available by people like Tony Robbins and Jim Rohn which can help with mindset.
So if you’re feeling demotivated, don’t accept that, do something about it. Take action now!
